Location: Indianapolis, IN
Work Arrangement: Full-time onsite. No remote or hybrid options available.
Responsibilities
The Project Controls Engineer is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and reporting project performance throughout the lifecycle of construction projects. This role focuses on project controls, cost and schedule analysis, forecasting, reporting, and identifying risks to help ensure projects stay on budget and on track.
  • Monitor project performance against established budgets, schedules, and key performance indicators.
  • Analyze project progress and identify trends, risks, and potential issues affecting project success.
  • Assist project teams with forecasting labor, productivity, manpower, and overall project performance.
  • Develop reports, dashboards, and executive summaries to communicate project status.
  • Evaluate schedule updates provided by the Scheduling Engineer and analyze schedule impacts on project performance.
  • Assist in identifying opportunities to improve project execution and operational efficiency.
  • Participate in project meetings and provide data-driven recommendations.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers, Superintendents, Estimators, Accounting, and Scheduling Engineers to ensure accurate project reporting.
  • Monitor project documentation, progress reporting, and performance metrics.
  • Support implementation and continuous improvement of Project Controls best practices across multiple projects.
  • Perform periodic jobsite visits to validate reported project progress.
  • Assist with project closeout reporting and lessons learned documentation.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Construction Science, Business, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in construction project controls, project engineering, project management, or a related role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Experience interpreting construction drawings and project documentation.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
  • Familiarity with Primavera P6, Procore, Power BI, or similar project management software is preferred.
