Staff Design Manager โ€“ EPC

We are recruiting for a Staff Design Manager to lead complex design and engineering programmes for a rapidly expanding advanced manufacturing organisation.


You will manage multidisciplinary infrastructure and tool-installation projects from early concept and feasibility through the 30%, 60%, 90% and IFC design stages. This is a fast-paced position requiring close collaboration with engineering, construction, procurement, manufacturing and facilities teams.


Key responsibilities:


  • Lead industrial infrastructure and tool-installation projects from concept through construction
  • Define project scope, objectives, budgets and design deliverables
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams and external A/E partners
  • Manage design reviews at the 30%, 60%, 90% and IFC stages
  • Oversee permitting documents, RFIs, transmittals and change management
  • Align design activities with procurement and construction schedules
  • Lead feasibility studies, value engineering and options analysis
  • Support project funding requests for major infrastructure improvements
  • Identify engineering resource gaps, design risks and schedule constraints
  • Implement fast-track design, BIM and lean construction methodologies


Candidate requirements:


  • Approximately 10+ years of relevant design, engineering or construction experience
  • Experience within advanced manufacturing, semiconductor, battery, automotive, chemical or another heavy industrial environment
  • Strong multidisciplinary design-management experience
  • Knowledge of manufacturing facilities, utilities, site infrastructure and equipment installation
  • Experience managing engineering consultants, contractors and internal stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of codes, permitting and local jurisdictions
  • Excellent project management, communication and documentation skills
  • Degree in Architectural, Civil, Mechanical, Chemical or Electrical Engineering preferred
