We are currently seeking a Senior Design Manager to focus on overseeing the Design, Engineering and Construction phases of high-profile hospitality projects. Experienced Project Managers, Project Architects, or Interior Designers with technical and on-site construction experience from leading large Architecture/Interior Design firms are ideal candidates. This position will be based in West Palm Beach, FL and is a great opportunity to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and delivery of premium workplace projects, upholding rigorous benchmarked standards of quality, detailing, and material execution. Collaborate closely with senior stakeholders and consultants to ensure strong design outcomes in a fast-paced environment.

  • Lead development across Programming, Concept, SD, DD, CD, and CA phases. Oversee meetings, workshops, and drawing reviews to promote thorough documentation, disciplined coordination, and alignment with project objectives.

  • Demonstrate comprehensive experience in the design and engineering process.

  • Take ownership and responsibility with a hands-on approach, attentive to strategy and detail.

  • Own the Quality Control of design and construction processes.

  • Leverage strong interpersonal and communication skills to provide attentive client service and effectively address complex issues and situations. Polished executive level reporting required.

  • Demonstrate strong personal initiative, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving.

  • Manage and oversee the work of a design management team.

  • Create management deliverables including presentations, reporting, tables, minutes, logs.

  • Manage consultant onboarding, RFQs and RFPs to interviews, leveling, agreements, and award.

  • Use knowledge and understanding of construction methods, materials, and sequences.

  • Develop rigorous analyses and reviews of developing design and engineering documents.

  • Collaborate in the successful cost and schedule management of the project.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master'sDegree in Architecture, Interior Design, or closely related field preferred.

  • 8 years' experience in elite architecture/interior design firms working on medium to large scale hospitality projects.

  • Detailed understanding and experience in the design process of hospitality, as well as construction methods, materials, and sequences.

  • Architectural core and shell experience a plus.

  • Construction Administration and On-Site Field experience required.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and spoken and written communication abilities are essential.

  • Experience with cost and schedule management.

  • Extensive understanding of architectural, engineering, and construction documentation.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, etc.; CAD and 3D software is beneficial.

  • Proficient in Bluebeam, Adobe Creative Suite, Procore, or similar PMIS systems.

Cumming Group reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range, depending on a candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications, including client requirements.
