As part of our continued expansion, we are establishing a dedicated Construction & Expansion Project Manager (PM) role within the PMO to support the build-out and development of manufacturing facilities worldwide.
The Construction & Expansion Project Manager (PM) is responsible for planning, executing, and delivering global manufacturing facility construction, expansions, and retrofits to support hyperscaler rack production. This role partners closely with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Facilities, IT, EHS, Security, and Finance to ensure factories are delivered on time, within budget, and production ready to meet aggressive customer demand.
The PM leads projects from site selection and design through build-out, equipment installation, and production ramp, with a strong focus on scalability, standardization, and hyperscaler compliance.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead end-to-end construction, expansion, and retrofit projects for global manufacturing sites (greenfield, brownfield, and upgrades)
  • Oversee building design and construction including shell, MEP systems, utilities, clean power, compressed air, and material flow layouts
  • Ensure facilities are scalable and optimized for high-mix, high-volume rack manufacturing
  • Ensure compliance with all local codes, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Conduct site reviews, audits, and progress tracking; lead construction meetings and issue resolution
  • Partner with Manufacturing Engineering to align facility design with production requirements (assembly lines, testing, burn-in, pack-out, logistics)
  • Coordinate installation, commissioning, and validation of production equipment and tooling
  • Drive factory readiness milestones aligned to customer ramps and contractual commitments
  • Lead final handoff to Operations including as-builts, SOPs, and production readiness validation
  • Serve as the single-threaded owner for construction and expansion programs
  • Act as the primary interface between internal stakeholders and external vendors
  • Lead cross-functional coordination across Facilities, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, IT/OT, Security, EHS, and Finance
  • Provide executive-level reporting including schedules, dashboards, risks, and mitigation plans
  • Select, contract, and manage architects, general contractors, and specialty trades
  • Drive vendor accountability for cost, schedule, quality, and safety performance
  • Negotiate contracts, manage change orders, and mitigate scope creep
  • Ensure all partners meet hyperscale standards and audit requirements
  • Develop and manage capital budgets and multi-year expansion roadmaps
  • Own master schedules, including critical path and dependency management
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks proactively across all project phases
  • Lead project closeout, ensuring all contractual and documentation requirements are met
  • Conduct post-project reviews and integrate lessons learned into standardized playbooks
  • Ensure facilities meet hyperscaler, customer, environmental, and regulatory requirements
  • Manage permitting, approvals, inspections, and audit readiness
  • Support safety, security, and operational compliance audits
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (25-50%) to support project sites

Contribute to development of construction PM best practices and standards
Maintain strong stakeholder alignment and foster a proactive, solution-oriented project culture
Requirements
  • 7-12+ years of experience in construction, facilities, or expansion project management
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field
  • Proven experience delivering large-scale capital projects ($5M-$100M+), preferably in manufacturing, industrial, or data center environments
  • Experience supporting manufacturing operations (rack, server, electronics, or industrial assembly preferred)
  • Experience managing global or multi-site projects with concurrent timelines
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Industrial building systems
    • MEP infrastructure
    • Manufacturing layouts and material flow optimization
  • Experience with construction contracts, drawings, specifications, and compliance requirements
  • Proficiency in project tools (Microsoft Project, Smartsheet) and construction tools (e.g., Bluebeam, Adobe Acrobat)
  • Experience in cost management and construction data analysis
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (25-50%) to support project sites

  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in hyperscaler or cloud infrastructure supply chain environments
  • Exposure to data center, rack, or server manufacturing
  • Familiarity with Lean manufacturing and factory design principles
  • Experience working across global regions (Asia, EMEA)
  • PMP, PMI-CP, or equivalent certification (preferred)

You Are
  • A strong leader who can drive alignment across cross-functional and global teams in a fast-paced environment
  • A structured program owner with the ability to manage complex, multi-phase capital projects
  • Highly analytical with sound financial acumen (CapEx planning, forecasting, and cost control)
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and execution discipline
  • An effective communicator who can engage both technical teams and executive stakeholders
  • A proactive problem solver who anticipates risks and drives resolution
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity while maintaining focus on outcomes and timelines
