Job Duties for the Controller:
  • Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, month‑end close, and financial reporting
  • Manage construction accounting activities such as job costing, WIP reporting, and percentage‑of‑completion revenue recognition
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Lead cash flow management, forecasting, and budget development
  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting
  • Establish, maintain, and improve internal controls and accounting policies
  • Coordinate with external auditors, tax providers, and banking partners
  • Analyze project financial performance and provide insights to leadership
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable regulatory requirements
Qualifications for the Controller:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, with construction industry experience strongly preferred
    • Strong knowledge of job costing, WIP schedules, and construction financials
  • Proven ability to manage deadlines, lead teams, and partner with operations

Bethesda, MD (onsite 5 days per week)
Compensation: $140,000 - $165,000
