Job description

Our client is building a dedicated Project Controls department to support project scheduling, cost controls, workforce planning, labor forecasting, production tracking, and performance reporting across our commercial construction operations. Reporting through the Chief Operating Officer, this team partners closely with Operations and Project Management to improve project visibility, maximize resource utilization, and drive successful project execution.

Role Overview

Sr. Cost Control Specialist - A senior-level project controls professional focused on cost engineering, forecasting, preconstruction project planning, workflow process controls (Unifer), production tracking, reporting, and operational analysis across multiple projects.

This position is a senior-level role within the Project Controls team focused on project cost controls, forecasting, reporting, cost engineering, and operational decision support across multiple projects.

Key Requirements:

  • Extensive project cost control experience within a commercial construction environment

  • Primavera P6 experience required; Unifier experience strongly preferred

  • Strong background in cost engineering, forecasting, reporting, resource planning, and labor forecasting

  • Experience monitoring and controlling costs across multiple construction projects simultaneously

  • Extensive experience with project cost tracking, cost allocation, budget management, and change order review/processing

  • Ability to analyze schedule impacts and coordinate closely with operations and project teams

  • Experience developing project controls processes, dashboards, reporting structures, and forecasting tools

  • Ability to identify cost risks, resource constraints, labor impacts, and project performance trends before they become issues

  • Experience partnering with operations leadership, project managers, estimators, and executive stakeholders

  • Strong analytical, financial, and problem-solving capabilities

  • Experience supporting business planning, budgeting, production tracking, and operational performance initiatives

  • Proficiency with construction technology platforms and reporting tools.
