Position Summary
The Civil Construction Laborer supports a variety of on-site tasks to help complete civil construction projects. Duties include preparing job sites, working with tools and equipment, assisting skilled operators, and performing general labor under the supervision of the Foreman or Crew Leader. Projects include excavation, concrete work, underground utilities, and site cleanup.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with general site preparation, including digging, grading, and demolition work.
  • Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Support the installation of utilities, concrete forms, rebar, and other structural elements.
  • Operate small tools and assist with machinery as directed (e.g., compactors, saws).
  • Follow all safety guidelines and use protective equipment as required.
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Perform manual labor such as lifting, carrying, and moving construction materials.
  • Follow directions from Foreman, Crew Leaders, and other supervisors.
  • Travel to job sites as needed, including short-notice and overnight stays.
Job Requirements
  • 1-2 years of construction or outdoor labor experience preferred (motivated candidates will be trained).
  • Willingness to learn and work hard in physically demanding environments.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift 50-75 lbs., stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive physical tasks.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and be eligible to operate a company vehicle in accordance with company policy and applicable law.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening in accordance with company policy and applicable law.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with hand tools and basic construction practices (a plus).
  • Willingness to travel frequently (up to 95%) for project assignments, including occasional overnight travel.
