Purpose of Job:
The Pre Sell Delivery Driver will be responsible for promoting Interstate's line of products by ensuring accurate and timely delivery of batteries and related materials to dealers.
Job Components:
  • Meet or exceed sales and service metrics as defined by the manager.
  • Ensure accurate, timely delivery of new batteries, merchandising fixtures, and all other battery related products.
  • Communicate effectively, both written and verbal, with Pre Sell Manager, including but not limited to text messages, email, and phone calls.
  • Accountable for executing consignment changes, securing recyclable batteries, completing warranty claims, performing battery rotations, collecting cash, and invoicing.
  • Maintain the route by keeping displays clean and keeping the dealer list up to date.
  • Maintain dealer relationships.
  • Interact professionally with all stakeholders, including team members, managers, and customers.
  • Follow/fulfill all driver program requirements, as specified by the manager.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Two years of relevant customer service experience.
  • Direct Store Delivery (DSD) experience, preferred.
  • High school graduate (or equivalent).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to build lasting relationships and provide reliable support.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to ensure timely deliveries and efficient route coverage under moderate supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in daily tasks.
  • Working knowledge of electronic inventory management tools is required (tablets, scanners).
  • Must have and maintain a valid DOT medical card, a state Driver's License (CDL may be required), and an acceptable driving record required.

Scope Data:
  • Work with customers and dealers on a regular basis.
  • Model Interstate's Purpose and Values.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.

Work Environment:
  • Be able to regularly lift and/or move 75 lbs.
  • Exposed to battery warehouse conditions such as moving equipment, mechanical parts, electricity, fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, hear, talk, and use hands to grasp and handle objects.
  • Repetitive lifting.
  • Frequent sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Use of PPE required (steel toe boots, safety glasses, protective gloves, etc).
