The Promontory Conservancy is looking to fulfill a vacancy for a Conservancy Irrigation Technician.

The Conservancy Irrigation Technician will perform the operation, installation, maintenance and repair of manual, semi-automatic and automatic irrigation and sprinkler systems as well as assist in reading water meters and documenting water use.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Will work on irrigation lines ranging from 1” up to 8”.
  • Checks system for proper operation and timing.
  • Performs seasonal maintenance such as system charging and draining.
  • Maintains inventory of related parts and supplies.
  • May participate in the design or modification of new or existing systems.
  • Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries and unsafe work practices to management.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS AND CERTIFICATIONS: High School diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; must be at least 21 years of age and be able to pass a pre – employment background and motor vehicle driving check; must have a clean Motor Vehicle Record to be added to Promontory’s vehicle insurance.

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Must have 2 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience maintaining commercial irrigation systems; knowledge of WeatherTrack preferred; must have knowledge of VFD (Variable Frequency Drives); Backflow certification highly preferred.

WORKING KNOWLEDGE TO BE ACQUIRED ON JOB: Abide by Promontory policies and procedures and submit ideas for possible revision; work independently with little supervision; courteous and helpful with Promontory Club Members and employees.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to lift a maximum of 100lbs; must be willing to work various hours, holidays and weekends.

Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Wages range from $25/hr - $30/hr and will be commensurate upon employment based off of experience.
