Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and screenings to evaluate patients' mental health needs, facilitating the development of personalized treatment plans that align with their goals.
  • Provide short-term individual counseling sessions addressing various concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues.
  • Facilitate therapy groups and workshops that encourage patient engagement in their personal development journeys and foster a sense of community.
  • Collaborate effectively with medical teams, support staff, and community organizations to ensure holistic and coordinated care for patients.
  • Participate in mental health outreach initiatives aimed at raising awareness and promoting well-being in the broader community.
  • Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation of all patient interactions, assessments, and progress notes in compliance with ethical and regulatory standards.
Patient Population / Client Focus

You will be working primarily with hospital patients who present a range of mental health issues, such as emotional distress, severe mental illness, and co-occurring disorders. Understanding the complexities of patients' backgrounds and the challenges they face is crucial for delivering effective therapy. Your ability to empathize and create a safe space for clients will be instrumental in fostering their healing process.

Qualifications
  • Must possess an active state license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or hold a Doctor of Psychology (PsyD).
  • A Master's or doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field is required.
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of the unique mental health challenges faced by hospital patients.
  • Exemplary communication and interpersonal skills are essential for building rapport with clients and collaborating with healthcare teams.
  • Knowledge and application of evidence-based practices and brief therapy models found in hospital environments.
  • Proven ability to thrive in fast-paced settings and manage a diverse caseload effectively.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience providing treatment in outpatient settings, particularly with patients navigating crisis situations or transitional phases in their mental health journey.
  • Background in community outreach or preventive mental health initiatives would be advantageous.
  • Familiarity with telehealth platforms and virtual counseling techniques is preferred.
Compensation and Benefits
