Job Description:
Job Overview
The R&D / Product Development Technician III is an advanced technical contributor responsible for supporting and leading complex product development activities. This role independently executes development work, drives process characterization and validation, and provides technical leadership and guidance to lower-level technicians.
Job Requirements
  • Independently build and support prototype, verification, and validation assemblies with limited direction
  • Lead or execute process characterization, validation (IQ/OQ/PQ), and engineering studies
  • Analyze test data using statistical tools to identify trends and determine process capability
  • Develop and update technical documentation, work instructions, and test protocols
  • Troubleshoot complex equipment and process issues and implement solutions independently
  • Design or modify fixtures, tools, and test setups to support development activities
  • Lead or support root cause investigations, failure analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, quality, and manufacturing to ensure successful product development
  • Mentor and guide Technician I/II team members on best practices and technical execution
  • Support development of robust, repeatable, and scalable manufacturing processes

What your background should look like
  • High school diploma required; technical degree strongly preferred
  • 4+ years of experience in R&D, product development, or advanced manufacturing environments
  • Strong understanding of process characterization, validation, and test methods
  • Ability to independently interpret technical drawings, documentation, and engineering requirements
  • Experience using data analysis tools (run charts, SPC, Cp/Cpk, etc.)
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across equipment, processes, and assemblies
  • Experience with DOE, validation protocols, or engineering studies preferred

COMPENSATION
• Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $54,700- $82,000 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
• Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
• Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
