Job description

Sell Communication Solutions that businesses actually need

Grid4 Communications is hiring a Sales Executive - Business Communications & Network Connectivity to grow our business communications portfolio across Southeast Michigan, expanding to the Great Lakes Region. This role is for a driven, professional seller who knows how to prospect, build relationships, uncover communications pain points, and close new business.

You will work with companies to identify needs related to Voice, Cloud Phone Systems, UCaaS-CCaaS, VoIP, Internet, Connectivity, and related next-gen business communication solutions. This role is more direct and activity-driven than a managed IT sales motion, and it is a strong fit for someone with experience in telecom, carrier services, hosted voice, connectivity, or adjacent technology sales.

What you'll do

  • Prospect and develop new business opportunities, while leveraging your existing business relationships, to sell our SmartComm Suite of Voice, UCaaS, VoIP, Internet, Network Connectivity, and related communication solutions
  • Build pipeline through outbound outreach, networking, referrals, and business development activity
  • Conduct discovery around customer environments, contract status, communication pain points, growth plans, and operational needs
  • Recommend and present solutions aligned to customer goals, budget, and business requirements
  • Coordinate with internal teams and vendor/carrier resources to develop proposals, pricing, and implementation expectations
  • Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation through close and handoff to our Service Launch Team
  • Maintain accurate CRM data, opportunity tracking, and forecast updates
  • Stay current on market trends, carrier offerings, competitive positioning, and customer buying behavior
  • Consistently achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals

What success looks like

  • You create a steady flow of qualified opportunities
  • You identify fit quickly and move deals efficiently
  • You understand how to position communications solutions without overcomplicating the sale
  • You follow through on proposals, pricing, and close activity
  • You build long-term customer relationships that create both new business and expansion opportunities

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of B2B sales experience in telecom, carrier services, VoIP, UCaaS, connectivity, internet, or related technology sales
  • Proven track record of prospecting and closing new business
  • Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and follow-up skills
  • Ability to manage multiple active opportunities at once
  • Professional presence with executives and business stakeholders
  • Experience using CRM and quoting tools effectively
  • Competitive mindset and consistent sales discipline

Preferred

  • Experience selling hosted Voice, Cloud Phone Systems, SIP, Internet, SD-WAN, or multi-location communications solutions
  • Familiarity with telecom contracts, renewals, transitions, and implementation coordination
  • Existing Southeast Michigan business relationships are an absolute plus

What Grid4 brings to the table

  • Competitive base salary plus commission/bonus
  • Medical, dental, and vision benefits
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Paid time off and paid holidays
  • Business casual environment
  • A collaborative culture with room to grow
  • The opportunity to make a visible impact in a growing organization

Why Grid4

Grid4 gives sales professionals the chance to work with real solutions, real clients, and a team that values execution over fluff. You won't be buried in corporate theater. You'll be expected to build pipeline, solve problems, and win business.
