Job Title: Specialist, Hardware Configuration Management

Job Schedule: 9/80: Employees work 9 out of every 14 days - totaling 80 hours worked, and have every other Friday off

Job Description:

 

Designs and establishes hardware configuration management processes and documentation. Analyzes proposed product design changes to determine the effect on the overall system. Establishes baselines. Authorizes the release of drawings and changes specified by contract. Provides guidance on methods, procedures and requirements to individuals responsible for design and documentation.

 

Essential Functions:

 

  • Generate, enforce and maintain Configuration and Data Management Plans
  • Administer hardware products and processes in Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tool
  • Support, guide and collaborate with crossfunctional engineering disciplines across multiple locations
  • Establish and maintain configuration baselines for development, production, and sustainment programs
  • Oversee all engineering changes to ensure proper control, review, approval and delivery in compliance with contractual requirements and internal standards
  • Applies data control methodologies to prevent process issues and uphold required quality standards.
  • Manage identification, release, and maintenance of data items and SDRL/CDRL schedules in alignment with program needs.
  • Leads Configuration Status Accounting, functional and physical configuration audits to drive continuous improvement and best practices
  • Serves as a subject matter expert on HWCM practices, advising teams and resolving complex configuration management issues.
  • Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

 

  • Experience using Oracle Agile or Windchill PLM systems
  • Experience supporting proposals and cost estimates for Configuration and Data Management functions
  • Configuration Management certification(s) such as CMPIC or NDIA
  • Knowledge and understanding of relevant Military, DoD/DoW or Industry Hardware design, quality and Configuration Management standards, such as: AS9100, ISO 9001, EIA-649, MIL-STD-973, ASME Y14.100 and ASME Y14.5M -1994 or later
  • Experience supporting government and industry quality and configuration audits
  • Ability to analyze and convert Contract Statements of Work and Performance Work Statements into actionable configuration and data management requirements and plans
  • Proficiency with MS Office products, with application of AI tools such as CoPilot
