Job Description

We are seeking a Marketing Manager. Reporting to the VP of Client Services and Growth. This is a hands-on role for someone who will be the company's sole marketing professional. This is a position for someone who enjoys both contributing to developing strategy and rolling up their sleeves and executing action plans. This person will have the opportunity to build and scale Boston Engineering's marketing function as the company continues to grow. The ideal candidate is comfortable owning execution today and has the potential to lead a team, as their individual efforts drive growth for the organization. Success in this role depends on the ability to prioritize high-impact activities, leverage external partners effectively, and balance strategic initiatives with hands-on execution.

  • The Marketing Manager will playan integral role on our team, including 
  • Marketing Strategy, Brand & Positioning 
  • Liaison with the VP of Client Services and Growth and our marketing agency to help shape the company's go-to-market strategy across the medical, commercial, and defense markets 
  • Monitor industry trends, customer needs, and competitor activity to identify emerging opportunities to inform refinement requirements 
  • Refine and evolve the company's value proposition, messaging, and positioning as required 
  • Own the Boston Engineering brand and ensure consistency across all customer touchpoints, including the website, marketing collateral, presentations, proposals, social media, email marketing, events, sales enablement materials, customer communications, and all other brand assets 
  • Own implementation of marketing KPIs and monitoring of progress 

Demand Generation 

  • Own tracking of campaign performance and continuously improving marketing effectiveness using data and analytics 
  • Create and optimize lead generation programs in partnership with the sales organization 
  • Develop and execute integrated marketing campaigns that generate qualified opportunities 
  • Produce and coordinate marketing content across multiple channels. 
  • Draft web content and sales collateral 
  • Develop compelling content that communicates technical capabilities to executive and engineering audiences 

E-mail campaign execution 

  • Manage digital marketing including SEO, AEO, paid media, email marketing, social media, and content marketing. 
  • Support thought leadership initiatives including articles, presentations, webinars, and conference speaking opportunities. 
  • Lead social media initiatives 
  • Collaborate on white papers and related thought leadership 
  • Support employee/internal communications 

Marketing Execution 

  • Coordinate external vendors including designers, writers, digital agencies, and printers when needed. Liaison with our marketing agency 
  • Manage and maintain the corporate website. 
  • Plan and execute trade shows, conferences, webinars, and customer events. 
  • Manage the marketing budget and prioritize investments for maximum business impact. 
  • Manage trade show and eventlogistics 
  • Maintain our customer relationship management (CRM) database- HubSpot and Salesforce 

Sales Enablement 

  • Ensure sales teams have current messaging, competitive intelligence, and marketing resources by developing collateral and sales enablement publications 
  • Create sales collateral including presentations, case studies, capability statements, brochures, and proposal support materials 
  • Partner closely with the sales team to develop account-based marketing initiatives
Qualifications
  • 7+years of experience in marketing and communications within B2B professional services, preferably engineering or product development 
  • BA/BS degree in marketing, business,graphic design,engineering, data science, or liberal arts 
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to measure marketing effectiveness and make data-driven decisions 
  • Highly organized, self-directed, and comfortable working independently 
  • Experience developing marketing strategy while also personally executing marketing programs 
  • Strong understanding of industrial, technology, engineering services, or B2B technical marketing 
  • Experience with digital marketing, content development, CRM systems, marketing automation, and website management, including Salesforce, HubSpot, and WordPress. And social media platforms 
  • AEO and SEO competency 
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously and get things done 
Additional Information

Employment Type: Full-time Role 

Reports to: VP of Client Services and Growth 

Location: Office-based in Waltham, MA

Salary Range:  The base salary range for this position is $85,000 - $120,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The final offer amount will be determined by factors such as the candidate's education, experience, and skills. A comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, 401(k) match, and paid time off, is also provided.
