Job description

TradeSource is actively hiring Journeyman Electricians for a long-term commercial construction project in the New London, CT area. This is not a short-term service call or a few weeks of work—we are looking for experienced electricians who want consistent hours and the opportunity to stay on a project for the long haul.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Install, terminate, and troubleshoot electrical systems on an active commercial construction project while maintaining production schedules and quality standards.
  • Install and bend electrical conduit, including accurately measuring, cutting, threading, and bending pipe to match layouts, equipment, and jobsite conditions.
  • Perform conduit installation, wire pulling, terminations, and equipment connections according to project specifications, plans, and applicable electrical codes.
  • Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and layouts to determine material requirements, installation locations, conduit routing, and proper placement of electrical systems.
  • Install electrical devices, panels, fixtures, and associated equipment while ensuring work is completed accurately and safely the first time.
  • Work alongside other electricians and construction trades while coordinating installations around ongoing framing, mechanical, plumbing, and other construction activities.
  • Identify and correct installation issues or electrical deficiencies before they create delays, failed inspections, or unnecessary rework for the project.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area while following OSHA requirements and all project-specific safety procedures.
  • Work independently or as part of an electrical crew while maintaining reliable attendance, productivity, and professional jobsite standards.

What We're Looking For

  • Journeyman-level electrician E2/E1 with commercial construction experience and the ability to perform quality electrical work with limited supervision.
  • Strong conduit and pipe-bending skills, including the ability to accurately bend EMT and other conduit to meet prints, measurements, and field conditions.
  • Experience with commercial electrical installations including conduit, wire pulling, terminations, panels, fixtures, and electrical equipment.
  • Ability to confidently read blueprints, electrical prints, and schematics and translate drawings into accurate field installations.
  • Solid understanding of electrical codes, installation methods, and construction practices with the ability to recognize and resolve common jobsite issues.
  • OSHA 10 certification is preferred, with the ability and willingness to complete any additional safety training required for the project.
  • Reliable transportation and dependable attendance are required due to the long-term nature of the project and consistent work schedule.
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to completing the project are essential—we are looking for electricians interested in steady, long-term work.

Why Work With TradeSource?

  • $43–$47/hour starting pay, with compensation based on experience, qualifications, project requirements, and available opportunities.
  • Long-term project opportunities with consistent work and the potential for continued employment as additional projects become available.
  • Prevailing Wage opportunities are available on qualifying projects, potentially providing significantly higher total compensation.
  • Weekly pay with Direct Deposit, so you get paid consistently without waiting for a traditional two-week payroll cycle.
  • Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance options are available for eligible TradeSource employees.
  • 401(k) with company match to help you build toward your long-term financial goals.
  • OSHA 10 training and additional benefits are available to help support your career and continued employment.
  • Milestone Benefits and bonus opportunities may be available depending on the project and assignment.
  • Additional skilled-trade opportunities throughout Connecticut and New England are available as new projects come online.
