Description
Tradesmen International is immediately hiring experienced Industrial/Commercial Electricians are needed for projects located in or around Portage, IN. This is a first shift opportunity and the pay rate is $30-$40/hour based on experience and skill level. If you are a Electrician and want to work alongside other proven craftsmen who emphasize safety, productivity and superior craftsmanship, this is your chance to advance your career!
Job Scope:
  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, equipment, and controls in industrial and commercial environments
  • Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawing
  • Install conduit (EMT, Rigid, PVC, and Flexible), cable trays, wire, and electrical devices
  • Troubleshoot electrical systems using appropriate testing equipment to identify and resolve issues efficiently
  • Install and terminate motors, transformers, panels, switchgear, lighting, receptacles, and control systems
  • Perform preventative maintenance on electrical equipment to minimize downtime
  • Ensure all work complies with the National Electrical Code (NEC), OSHA regulations, and local electrical codes
  • Collaborate with project managers, supervisors, and other trades to complete projects safely and on schedule
  • Follow all company safety policies and maintain a clean, organized work area
  • Respond to emergency service calls and equipment failures as needed

Requirements:
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of industrial and or a combination of industrial and commercial electrical experience
  • Thorough knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC)
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications
  • Proficiency using electrical testing and diagnostic equipment
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand, kneel, bend, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces
  • Comfortable working at heights and in varying weather conditions when required
  • Ability to distinguish wire colors and perform detailed electrical work

Preferred:
  • Experience with motor controls, VFDs, PLCs, and automation systems
  • Experience installing and servicing three-phase electrical systems
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
  • Experience operating aerial lifts, scissor lifts, and forklifts
