Job description

Leapros Skilled Trades is actively hiring Electrician in PORT ALLEN, LA. The Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in commercial service environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of electrical codes, the ability to troubleshoot complex issues, and the experience necessary to perform high-quality electrical work independently or as part of a service team.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $20 to $35 Per Hour BOE

Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems including conduit, lighting fixtures, electrical panels, and transformers.
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues in commercial settings and perform corrective actions to minimize downtime.
  • Install, bend, and remove conduit to accommodate specific wiring needs.
  • Interpret and work from blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams to execute project specifications.
  • Pull electrical wiring through conduit and connect it to circuit breakers, transformers, and outlets.
  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical components and systems.
  • Ensure all installations and repairs comply with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and safety standards.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and safe condition.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in commercial or industrial electrical installations and service work.
  • Possession of necessary hand tools and personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Strong knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC) standards and safety procedures.
  • Dependable and punctual with the ability to work independently in a field service capacity.
  • Reliable transportation to travel to job sites in the Port Allen area.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with project managers and clients regarding work status.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must have manual dexterity, a good sense of balance, and excellent hand-eye coordination.
  • Must be able to climb stairs, ladders, and poles safely.
  • Must be physically capable of pulling wires and cables through conduits.
  • Must be able to work in inclement weather conditions including extreme hot and cold temperatures.
  • Must be able to see color to discern color-coded wiring.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, kneel, stoop, and walk for long periods of time.
  • Must be physically capable of lifting and carrying up to 80 lbs.
  • Must be aware of OSHA safety standards while working at heights or around loud noises.
