Job description

Job Summary


As a Skilled Pipe Layer at Huntzberry Brothers, Inc., you should possess general knowledge of underground utility installation, excavation and trenching regulations and pipeline safety. You will work with an underground utility crew in a safe and effective manner to ensure timely completion of our mass excavation and utility projects. Safety is our #1 priority! (EOE)

Responsibilities and Duties



  • Lay storm drainage, sanitary sewer laterals, water services and conduit

  • Ensure subgrade and pipe are on grade and online

  • Assist in backfilling and running compaction equipment

  • Follow safety regulations including OSHA and local jurisdictions

  • Recognize job site hazards

  • Cooperate with others in a team environment

  • Accept direction from supervisor

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Skills



  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a skilled pipe layer on heavy civil projects required

  • Previous experience working around heavy construction equipment

  • High school diploma or certification in a skilled trade

  • Ability to lift, push, pull in excess of 50 lbs., tolerate exposure to loud noise, dust and toxic materials, and work in constant exposure to outside elements and heat

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

  • Pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
