CONCRETE FINISHER

Position Summary

Places and finishes poured concrete surfaces (floors, sidewalks, roads, curbs) using hand and power tools; sets forms, installs joints/embeds, protects concrete during curing, and performs repairs as needed.


Key Responsibilities

  • Set and align concrete forms to desired grade and depth
  • Coordinate concrete placement with truck/pump operations
  • Screed, level, vibrate, and finish concrete using hand and power tools
  • Install control/expansion joints and finish edges
  • Apply broom, stamped, or decorative finishes as required
  • Install anchor bolts, steel plates, door sills, and other embeds
  • Monitor curing conditions and protect concrete; apply curing/sealing compounds
  • Lay out joints and saw-cut per specifications
  • Repair surfaces: chip, grind, patch voids; perform cut/drill/reinforce repairs
  • Clean and maintain concrete tools and equipment

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of concrete finishing experience
  • Experience with custom, job-built forms
  • Reliable transportation; travel up to 75 miles to job site
  • Carry required personal tools (trowels, floats, tool belt, etc.)
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and heavier loads with assistance; ability to perform strenuous labor

Preferred Qualifications

  • Valid driver's license
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 (training available)


Work Environment / Physical Requirements

This position is primarily field-based and performed in outdoor and indoor construction environments. Work may involve exposure to varying weather conditions, loud noises, and heavy equipment. The role requires the ability to stand and walk for extended periods, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and perform manual tasks. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and heavier loads with assistance.
