We currently have an open Engineering position in the Advanced Concepts group at our Anderson, SC office.Advanced Concepts is an interdisciplinary innovation group of designers and engineers within the Power Tool division, tasked with developing cutting-edge concepts for brands such as RYOBI and RIDGID. You will work hand and hand with other Advanced Concepts team members, as well as engineering, industrial design, analytical, and project management groups to deliver functional prototypes that can be evaluated for feasibility or concept recommendations that can be used for later product development. Your day-to-day activities will include: brainstorms, designing and building prototypes, feasibility testing, and concept refinement. We are a very hands-on group that thrives on learning throughout our diverse projects to create new and innovative products.**Primary Responsibilities:*** Ideate and create prototypes that demonstrate future solutions for future product needs.* Ideate and create demos showcasing our products’ performance and features* Work with cross functional team that includes, Industrial Designers, Mechanical and Electrical Engineers* Build and Manage budget, schedule, and quality expectations to meet key milestones* Communicate technical details and concepts to both technical and non-technical team members**Qualifications:*** B.S. in Mechanical* 0 - 3 years’ experience in design, prototyping, and/or test fixture development* 3D CAD experience* Experience with hands-on fabrication methodologies (3D printing, woodworking, metal working)* Experience with electronics including Arduino and Raspberry PI is a plus.* Understanding of key performance metrics such as power, speed, and torque.* Experience with measurement equipment for vibration & sound is a plus* An eye for aesthetically pleasing designs is a plus.**Software** Office, NX, SolidWorks, Altium, Photoshop, Microsoft Project**We Value:*** Self-starters who can work well autonomously and in collaboration with teams* Individuals with the “Maker” mindset – excited to jump into a new project and not afraid to get their hands dirty* Collaborative contributors – bring outside experience and interests to brainstorms* Cross-functional communicators – able to translate information between technical and non-technical co-workers, in Anderson and internationally* Experience with Rapid Prototyping (varying materials and processes)* Familiarity with electrical and mechanical systems (ex. motors, microcontrollers, batteries) #J-18808-Ljbffr
