Job description

At Atom Computing, we build quantum computers using arrays of optically trapped neutral atoms that will empower customers to achieve unprecedented computational breakthroughs. Join a world-class team of scientists, engineers, and business professionals to advance the state-of-the-art in quantum computing

We are seeking a quantum applications engineer to work with partners and customers to develop quantum algorithms and applications and map them to Atom Computing hardware.

Job Responsibilities
  • Map quantum algorithms and applications to Atom Computing hardware

  • Work with partners and customers to advise on appropriate usage of Atom Computing systems and set up successful scientific and commercial demonstrations on hardware

  • Guide partners toward fault tolerant methods and algorithms compatible with error correction

  • Perform on grants captured by Atom Computing involving quantum applications work

Experience & Education
  • Ph.D. in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or related field

  • 1+ years experience in quantum applications work (5+ years of experience for Senior)

Qualifications
Required 
  • Knowledge of fault tolerant algorithms for quantum computing

  • Knowledge of quantum algorithms and applications for commercial hardware

  • Experience working with partners and/or customers

Preferred
  • Strong understanding of chemistry and materials algorithms and applications for quantum computing
