Job description

COMPUTER TECHNICIAN I
Hiring Pay Range: $20.82 - $22.10/hr, DOE
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm
40 hours per week, 233 paid work days per year
Non-Exempt, Benefits Eligible
Location: Esperero Canyon Middle School
Target Start Date: July 6th, 2026





Definition:
Under direction of the Director of Educational Technology, performs work of moderate difficulty maintaining computer hardware and software in a school.
Essential Functions:
(Essential functions, as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following tasks, knowledge, skills and other characteristics.  This list is ILLUSTRATIVE ONLY, and is not a complete listing of all functions and tasks performed by positions in this job class.)
Tasks:        





  • Install, maintain, configure, troubleshoot, repair and secure computer system hardware, peripherals and software according to CFSD procedures and protocol.
  • Implement and test new applications and scripts to all staff and student devices as approved by the CFSD Educational Technology Department.
  • Provide technical support and assistance for students, teachers and staff as needed.
  • Supply students, teachers and staff with district standards, policies and procedures regarding technology.
  • Maintain work orders, inventory and usage records system.
  • Request parts and supplies based on CFSD structures and protocols.
  • Prepare written documentation to assist with technology use for teachers and staff.
  • Attend scheduled meetings with other school Computer Technicians and district Educational Technology staff.
  • In collaboration with CFSD Educational Technology Staff, set up and maintain all computers, peripherals, and supporting hardware at their assigned school.
  • Administer the local area network and connections to the wide area network.
     


Desired Knowledge, Skills and Other Characteristics:

  • Knowledge of Apple devices, peripherals, parts and supplies
  • Knowledge of computer software
  • Skill in communicating technical information effectively
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with staff, administrators and students
  • Skill in utilizing management systems (i.e. Google, Workspace, Active Directory, Mosyle, SnipeIT)


Minimum Required Qualifications:           
High School diploma or GED and one (1) year of experience maintaining multiple computers in a network environment.

Special Requirements: 
Must possess or have the ability to obtain a Level I - IVPP Fingerprint Clearance card through Arizona Department of Public Safety.
