Summary:
The Computer Client Support Technician provides administration and management assistance for AFSOC's networks. Duties include, but are not limited to configuration management, maintenance, troubleshooting of NIPR/SIPR/TS client workstations.
Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:
  • Technical Support: Provide assistance to users experiencing hardware or software issues, either in person or remotely. This includes troubleshooting problems and delivering solutions to common software and hardware issues.
  • System Setup and Configuration: Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, including hardware components like routers, printers, and servers.
  • Help Desk Management: Manage A2 help desk tickets, respond to requests in a timely manner, and log both problems and resolutions to maintain accurate records.
  • Documentation and Knowledge Base: Create and maintain documentation for troubleshooting procedures and solutions. Develop a knowledge base to assist other technicians and users.
  • User Training: Educate users on how to use software applications and hardware effectively, providing training sessions as needed.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other Information Technology (IT) staff and departments to ensure all technical needs are met and to escalate issues when necessary.

Qualifications
Necessary Skills and Knowledge:
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills to assist non-technical users effectively.
  • Familiarity with computer systems, networks, and various software applications.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant IT field. Contractor must have and maintain currency of the appropriate level certification in accordance with Department of Defense (DoD) 8570.01-M (or current DoD/DFARS guidance governing IA workforce qualifications).
  • Minimum 5 years of recent IT experience.
  • At minimum, 5 years of experience performing technical assistance and support related to computer systems, hardware, and software required for MS and LINUX operations systems, at least 2 years of experience, within the past 3 years, with Microsoft Windows Server, Microsoft Active Directory, VMWare, Linux server software, and have knowledge on network storage. 5 years of experience administering and deploying geospatial applications and intelligence related automation to support analytical efforts and product development is desired.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in administering and deploying enterprise level open source and commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) server equipment in support of intelligence organizations.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance is required.
