Job description

WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:
As a Designer on the NPI team at nVent, you will play a key role working with cross functional teams to support product development, manufacturing, and customer solutions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive manufacturability, quality, and scale, while helping ensure designs meet requirements.
IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL
  • Create and revise detailed 2D and 3D CAD models and drawings for components, assemblies, and systems using SolidWorks.
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and product management teams to ensure design intent and manufacturability.
  • Maintain drawing standards and documentation in accordance with company and industry guidelines.
  • Support prototype development and testing by providing accurate design data and documentation.
  • Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage and organize CAD files and design documentation within PLM systems.
  • Design, build, and help qualify fixtures, custom tools, and inspection tools.
YOU HAVE:
  • Associate degree or technical certification in CAD, mechanical design, or related field; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Ideally 5+ years of experience in CAD design, preferably in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Proficient in SolidWorks software.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Pay Transparency
nVent's pay scale is based on the expected range of base pay for this job and the employee's work location. Employee pay within this range will be based on a combination of factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, education, and performance. Where federal, state, or local minimum wage requirements exist, employee pay will comply.
Compensation Range:
$23.90 - $44.40 Per Hour
Depending on the position offered, employee may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as annual incentives.
