Job description

CT Technologist - Permanent Hire 
  • 3x12s, 7am-7:30pm

The CT Technologist assists physicians and performs radiological, paramedical, and clerical duties required in the care and assistance of patients. Works under the direction of the Radiology Supervisor and physicians. Is primarily responsible for helping with the daily operations of the CT department.

Job Duties:
  • Prepares room, equipment, contrast media, and materials needed for procedures.
  • Maintains clean and stocked CT procedure room daily.
  • Properly warms CT equipment daily and ensures equipment is working properly.
  • Prepares patients for CT procedures, explains the procedure, positions patients correctly, and assists them at the end of the procedure.
  • Labels scans appropriately and uses proper patient ID on film.
  • Performs general clerical, file room, darkroom, and transportation duties when needed.
  • Assists Radiologists during procedures and takes scans as requested.
  • Knowledgeable in scheduling exams for the Radiology department.
  • Applies knowledge of age-related factors appropriately to patients ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics.
  • Maintains confidentiality and privacy of all patient information.
  • Implements radiation safety procedures when working with radiation producing equipment.
  • Responsible for reading and reviewing all department manuals annually.
  • Sends images to PACS appropriately and verifies availability for interpretation.
  • Rotates to other imaging departments as needed and participates in holiday and on-call rotation requirements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
