Able Forces, founded by 2 veterans, is a 501(c)(3) non-profit providing professional, career-oriented employment exclusively to Wounded Warriors and Disabled Veterans.
The primary focus of employment for our Warriors is on Federal and Commercial contracts. Our contracts reflect a variety of professional disciplines including Military Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Military Analysts, Administrative and Program Management Support, Help Desk, Logistics, and Secure Communications in both cleared and non-cleared environments.
Able Forces employment opportunities focus exclusively on career-oriented, entry to senior level positions.
We are currently executing contracts in Washington DC Metro Area, Alexandria VA, Huntsville Alabama, Ft. Benning GA, and Orlando/Tampa FL. Existing customers include:

The mission of Able Forces is to address the critical employment and training needs of our combat injured veterans of OEF/OIF and all disabled veterans. We emphasize continuity of support and focus on providing employment opportunities and community-based job preparation training to our Nation's heroes suffering from Severe Physical Disabilities, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and minor to profound Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI).

Job Description
Tax Counselors will work in a service center and provide telephonic tax assistance to service members and their families. Tax assistance will be provided to assist with basic federal tax filing questions. Tax Consultants will handle routine tax questions along with providing guidance and resources to clients so they can collect necessary information for tax return completion and compliance. Tax Consultants will demonstrate proficiency in addressing clients' needs by phone and use of electronic media.
Qualifications
  • All applicants must be a Wounded Warrior or be a Disabled Veteran with a minimum of 30% documented disability
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field
  • VITA-Must be VITA certified prior to first training date
  • Printed certificate must be obtained for employee record
  • U.S. citizenship
  • Two to five years providing basic tax preparation assistance
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Computer literacy
  • Ability to provide customers with friendly, empathic service and accurate information
  • Knowledge of military specific tax benefits

Additional Information
  • Prefer CPA's, Enrolled Agents or Registered Tax Return Preparers
  • Prefer experience with multi-state returns
  • Veterans and military spouses encouraged to apply. Bilingual English/Spanish speakers preferred. Hiring for all shifts: Day, Evening and Weekend availability will be required, with a preference for Evening and Weekend availability.
