Temporary role from August - December 2026

Bloomington Health Center - 811 West 2nd Street, Bloomington, IN 47403


This position provides administrative support for our Homeless Initiative Program (HIP) department. The position assists the department in performing administrative assignments and projects.

Program Planning

  • Plans, prepares and coordinates specific programs, as delegated. Analyzes problems and performs problem solving.ย 
  • Coordinates and directs data collection and disbursement.ย 
  • Completes special projects and assignments.

Special Projects/Assignments

  • Performs special projects and/or ongoing assignments unique to the department.ย 
  • Coordinates special projects/assignments and tracks progress.ย 
  • Supports activities of department by providing various clerical duties as required.

Communication

  • Answers technical inquiries relating to departmental programs, projects and assignments.ย 
  • Routes incoming calls and directs visitors to the proper person when unable to answer technical questions.ย 
  • Places outgoing calls and sets up meetings for the department.ย 
  • Apply a minimum of one health literacy method when communicating with patients/clients.

Correspondence

  • Drafts correspondence to be sent ensuring the accuracy and appropriateness of the documents(s).ย 
  • Ensures director or designate reviews or is aware of highly sensitive or important responses.ย 
  • Ensures correspondence is answered in timely manner.

Meetings

Attends meetings and reports on issues and decisions. Follows up on issues affecting the areas of accountability and handles logistics, preparation of agendas and required materials.

Reporting

  • May design, develop and format reports and recommend program changes utilizing a microcomputer and various application software packages.

Auditing

  • Performs audits of specified data on a regular basis.ย 
  • Audit requirements can include electronic audits and physical audits in various centers and program locations.ย 
  • Reports findings to department.ย

  • Requires the ability to handle discretionary and confidential information.
  • Requires the ability to remain flexible in order to handle and prioritize work from various department staff.
  • Requires maintenance of Intern licensure by the Indiana Professional Licensing Agency.ย 
  • May require travel between health centers.

Physical Requirements

  • Able to be involved in degrees of prolonged standing, walking, sitting, bending, squatting, and stooping; as well as abilities of repeated bending, stooping, and squatting.
  • Able to lift, push, and/or pull light to moderately heavy weight up to 20-30 pounds is a necessary function of this position.
  • Able to perform duties during periods of varied and/or prolonged work hours.
  • Must be able to read, write, hear, and communicate effectively in the English language by both orally and written.
