The Opportunity

We are currently searching for an Intern, Quantitative Research and Risk to contribute to the success of our Quantitative Research team this Fall, as we continue to grow, we are looking for someone who is naturally curious and motivated by complex challenges, with a sharp analytical mindset. The Quantitative Research Intern will collaborate with internal teams to develop portfolio management models and can identify quantitative opportunities.

The expected hourly pay range for this internship position is $25.00 - $38.00. The final compensation offered within this range will be determined based on factors such as relevant education, skills, experience and internal equity.

You'll have the opportunity to learn and lead:

  • Support the Analysts and Portfolio Managers within the Quantitative Research Team
  • Collaborate with the team on research and development of projects related to Quantitative portfolios
  • Contribute to the design, integration, generation and automation of various reports related to operation and monitoring of Quantitative portfolios
  • Respond to ad hoc requests from Analysts and Portfolio Managers


What You Bring

  • Must be enrolled in an engineering, mathematics, statistics, quantitative finance, computer science, or related discipline with a recognized post-secondary institution
  • Financial domain knowledge is an asset but not a requirement
  • Front end programming experience is an asset but not a requirement
  • Some programming skills (preferably in R/Python/SQL) required
  • Confident in ability to work with large and disparate data and communicate complex issues in a clear and concise manner.
  • Interest in pursuing a CFA Designation is an asset but not required.
  • Experience with natural language processing (NLP) and Large Language Model (LLMs).
  • Ability to show initiative and composure when navigating tight project timelines.
  • A strong team player who can collaborate with others or able to work independently
  • Strong communication skills (written and oral communication) while relaying complex information
  • Understanding of factor-based investment strategies and alternative risk premia
