Job description

Slaughter, Reagan & Cole, LLP, is a mid-size, AV rated, Ventura County business litigation and insurance defense firm located within walking distance from the beach. We pride ourselves on our close-knit collaborative environment and strong ties to the local community. We maintain a large number of long-standing staff and promote high morale and a good working atmosphere.


We are seeking a litigation associate for a fully remote position with three or more years’ experience. Ideal candidate will be independent and self-motivated. The position provides substantial file responsibility including ample court appearances and depositions.


We focus heavily on training our associates to become the best lawyers possible. All associates are assigned a dedicated mentor and we maintain an open-door policy for questions and additional training. Associates will have the opportunity to work cases from inception to trial with partner guidance. We encourage a relaxed working environment while emphasizing the aggressive representation of our clients.


Ideal candidate will possess:

· Excellent academic record

· Active California Bar License

· Experience or exposure to civil litigation and/or insurance defense

· Strong work ethic

· Strong advocacy and verbal communication skills

· Excellent research and computer skills

· Strong legal writing skills for written discovery, reporting, and motion preparation

· Experience taking depositions and handle case files

· Desire for court appearances, deposition and trial work

· Professional demeanor, common sense problem solving and can-do attitude


This position has a salary range of $125,000.00 to $200,000.00, with benefits (401K, Medical, Dental, Vision, Life), a bonus structure for those who exceed minimum billing requirements, guided mentorship, and opportunities for advancement. We also provide resources to encourage further professional development and community involvement.


This is a fully remote position.
