• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments to identify individual patient needs, setting a foundation for effective treatment plans.
• Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions for individuals, couples, and families, employing techniques such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and solution-focused therapy.
• Facilitate psychoeducational workshops and support groups, enhancing the continuity of care and providing patients with necessary tools for recovery.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, psychologists, and mental health professionals to deliver coordinated patient care.
• Provide crisis intervention services, offering immediate support to clients in mental health emergencies.
• Educate clients about mental health conditions, available treatment modalities, and community resources tailored to their unique situations.
• Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of client interactions and treatment progress, adhering to state and federal legal and ethical standards.
• Engage in ongoing professional development, including attending team meetings, case consultations, and training sessions to stay abreast of developments in the mental health field.

You will work with a diverse clientele, including individuals from various backgrounds and cultural contexts, presenting a wide range of mental health conditions. This position requires a high level of cultural competence, empathy, and communication skills to effectively address the unique needs of each client and to promote an inclusive therapeutic environment.

• Must possess a Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Hold a current and valid state license as either LCMFT, LMFT, LCPC, or LCSW-C.
• Comprehensive understanding of mental health disorders and a strong foundation in evidence-based therapeutic approaches.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct mental health assessments and formulate effective, individualized treatment plans.
• Experience delivering individual and group therapy effectively to diverse populations.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an emphasis on building therapeutic relationships with clients.
• Ability to maintain professional boundaries and apply sound judgment on ethical issues.
• Proficient in electronic health records (EHR) systems and general computer applications.
• Capability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team setting.

• Experience in a virtual therapy environment or telehealth setting is highly favorable.
• Prior work with specific populations such as adolescents, families, or individuals with chronic mental health disorders.
• Familiarity with community resources and referral systems within the Overland Park area.
