Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough, trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate clients' backgrounds, trauma histories, and individual needs.
  • Develop, implement, and regularly update customized treatment plans that focus on trauma recovery, resilience-building, and overall well-being.
  • Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to enhance treatment effectiveness.
  • Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions aimed at helping clients process their trauma, develop coping strategies, and promote long-term healing.
  • Collaborate closely with psychiatrists and multidisciplinary team members to ensure comprehensive and integrated care for all clients.
  • Provide immediate crisis intervention and support as needed, guiding clients through trauma-related emergencies with empathy and professionalism.
  • Educate clients and their families about trauma, coping mechanisms, and available mental health resources, empowering them with knowledge.
  • Ensure accurate and confidential documentation of all client interactions in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Engage in case consultations, team meetings, and professional development activities focused on the latest advancements in trauma-informed care.
  • Stay informed of relevant research and best practices in trauma therapy to continuously enhance the quality of care offered.
Patient Population / Client Focus

This position focuses on serving diverse populations affected by trauma, including but not limited to victims of abuse, veterans, individuals recovering from natural disasters, and those coping with the effects of chronic illness. We recognize that each client's experience is unique, and our approach is centered around personalized, empathetic care that respects individual journeys and challenges.

Qualifications
  • A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.
  • A current and valid state licensure as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT is mandatory.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of trauma-related disorders and trauma-informed treatment modalities is essential.
