Software Engineer

Intenseye

New York, NY • Remote

Full-time

Re-posted 16 days ago

Job description

At Intenseye, we believe protecting people at work is non-negotiable.
That’s why we’re building the world’s most advanced AI-powered platform for industrial environments, designed to help organizations move from reactive programs to proactive risk prevention across safety, operations, and quality management. Our technology gives enterprises the ability to see risk and inefficiency as they emerge, take action in real time, and prevent incidents before they happen.

Today, Intenseye helps protect hundreds of thousands of workers across 25+ countries—and we’re just getting started.
The Role

We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer who can move fluidly across the stack—from performance-critical C++ and Python backend services to polished React/TypeScript frontends—and who brings the systems-level intuition to know when latency, throughput, and reliability are on the line.

You’ll build the product features, data pipelines, and APIs that turn real-time computer vision output into life-saving alerts and insights for our customers. You care as much about the user experience as you do about the code powering it.

This role is a strong fit for someone who is:

  • Commercially and product minded—you think about users, outcomes, and business value, not just technical correctness

  • A self-starter with a founder’s mentality: high ownership, high velocity, pragmatic judgment

  • Experienced shipping in fast-moving startup environments and comfortable with ambiguity

  • Equally at home in a backend pipeline and a React component, and proud of both

  • Motivated by mission—you want your work to have real-world impact

What You’ll Do

  • Build and own full-stack features across our React/TypeScript frontend and C++/Python backend, delivering polished end-to-end product experiences

  • Design and implement high-performance, low-latency data pipelines that process real-time safety event streams from computer vision models

  • Develop and maintain REST APIs and async backend services that power customer-facing dashboards and alerting workflows

  • Collaborate closely with product, design, and Research teams to translate safety intelligence into intuitive, actionable interfaces

  • Contribute to GCP-based cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines to ensure reliability and scalability across distributed customer environments

  • Engage directly with customers and internal stakeholders to understand problems and iterate quickly

  • Champion engineering quality: performance profiling, code reviews, testing, observability, and documentation

What We’re Looking For:

  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with meaningful full-stack ownership

  • Proven track record at a startup or high-growth environment: you’ve worn multiple hats and delivered under real constraints

  • Product and commercial mindset: you understand how engineering decisions connect to business outcomes

  • Strong communication skills—you can collaborate cross-functionally, work with customers, and write clearly

  • Startup mindset: high ownership, high velocity, pragmatic judgment

  • BS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field preferred

  • Familiarity in C++ in high-performance, low-latency, or real-time systems preferred

  • Familiarity with Python—REST APIs, async services, data processing pipelines preferred, not required

  • Familiarity with React and TypeScript preferred, not required

  • Experience with real-time data pipelines, event-driven architectures, or streaming systems preferred, not required

  • Familiarity with GCP and cloud-connected deployments preferred

We know that not everyone will meet 100% of the listed qualifications, and that’s OK. Research shows that individuals from underrepresented groups often hesitate to apply unless they meet every criterion.
