Position Requirements

The Director, Engineering provides strategic and operational leadership for software engineering, enterprise integrations, automation, and AI capabilities. This leader is responsible for building high-performing engineering teams, delivering secure and scalable technology solutions, and establishing engineering standards that support NAPA's business strategy. The role partners across Technology and the business to accelerate innovation, operational efficiency, and digital transformation.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Leadership

  • Define and execute the engineering roadmap aligned to business and technology priorities.
  • Establish engineering standards, architecture principles, and modern development practices.
  • Evangelize AI engineering strategy by identifying, evaluating, and operationalizing emerging AI, machine learning, generative AI, and intelligent automation capabilities that improve business outcomes.
  • Define and drive the enterprise integration strategy, ensuring secure, scalable, API-first integration capabilities across clinical, operational, and corporate platforms.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance engineering effectiveness, delivery velocity, platform reliability, and business value.

Engineering Management

  • Build, lead, and develop high-performing engineering managers and technical teams.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, continuous improvement, and engineering excellence.
  • Manage organizational design, staffing, and resource planning.

Technology Delivery

  • Deliver secure, scalable, and reliable software, integration, automation, and AI solutions.
  • Partner with Product, Architecture, Infrastructure, Security, Data, and PMO to prioritize and execute strategic initiatives.
  • Drive adoption of Agile, DevOps, SDLC, and engineering governance practices.
  • Accelerate adoption of AI-enabled/ automation (UIPath) capabilities across products and business processes while ensuring appropriate governance, compliance, and measurable business outcomes.
  • Monitor engineering metrics to improve productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction.

Operational Excellence

  • Establish engineering metrics, governance, and performance reporting.
  • Manage engineering budgets, vendor relationships, and technology investments.
  • Ensure compliance with security, privacy, and regulatory requirements while improving platform reliability.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field required.
  • 10+ years of progressive engineering experience.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience managing engineering managers and technical teams.
  • Experience leading large-scale technology initiatives and complex engineering organizations.
  • Demonstrated success developing engineering strategy and delivering enterprise technology solutions.

DESIRED/PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree (MBA, Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline) preferred.
