Customer Service Representative (Healthcare)

Location: Remote (Minnesota Residents Only)

Job Type: Contract-to-Hire

Duration: 3 Months Contract to Hire

Pay Rate: $25.00/hour

About the Role

We are seeking Customer Service Representatives to support members of a healthcare insurance organization during a period of significant service area changes. In this role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for members calling with questions about healthcare coverage, plan availability, and enrollment impacts resulting from changes in regional service offerings.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with strong customer service skills who enjoy helping people navigate important healthcare decisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive escalated calls from current members who no longer have coverage provided in their demographic area.
  • Support members impacted by upcoming service area reductions and plan availability changes.
  • Handle high volumes of inbound calls from current members whose health plans will no longer be offered in their geographic area.
  • Explain plan changes, coverage impacts, and available options in a clear and empathetic manner.
  • Assist members with understanding next steps and navigating enrollment or plan transition processes.
  • Deliver excellent customer service while addressing member concerns and questions related to service area changes.
  • Initially focus almost exclusively on service area reduction inquiries, with opportunities to receive training on additional skills and responsibilities over time.
Required Qualifications
  • Previous call center or high-volume customer service experience required.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and active listening skills.
  • Comfortable navigating multiple computer systems while assisting customers.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
  • Must reside in Minnesota and be available to report to the local office if business needs require.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Healthcare, health insurance, or benefits-related customer service experience.
  • Experience handling sensitive customer concerns and escalations.
Training & Schedule
  • Two-week paid training program.
  • Training schedule: Monday through Friday, approximately 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM.
  • Following training, several shift options will be available with end times of 4:00 PM, 4:30 PM, or 5:00 PM, depending on assigned schedule and lunch period.
Work Environment
  • Remote work opportunity after initial equipment pickup.
  • Equipment must be picked up on the first day at the Bloomington, MN office.
  • Employees must maintain a reliable internet connection and be able to travel to the office if necessary.
