Job description

Job Summary:

The AI/Machine Learning Engineer II will be part of the R&D team at Masimo with focus on design and creation of next-generation health monitoring devices. It is a cutting-edge research and development opportunity with the potential to improve people's lives by solving real-world problems. The key focus will be in analyzing data from different sources to discover relationships among various measurements and medically relevant conditions and developing computational models for disease diagnosis, detection and prediction of critical events. 

Responsibilities will include working with continuous streams of data from invasive and non-invasive sensors. The AI/ML Engineer will also closely work with our software, hardware and systems teams to ensure an efficient deployment in Masimo products.

Please note this is an onsite position at our Irvine, CA. office. 

Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Design and develop AI and ML models to solve complex problems
  • Design, train and evaluate machine learning models using large datasets
  • Contribute to the organization's strong drive to be on the cutting edge of technology through the generation of patentable ideas
  • Effectively communicate with engineering and marketing teams
  • Delivering high quality software design, documentation and implementation

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience in artificial intelligence, machine learning and/or deep learning within the medical device industry
  • Experience with machine learning libraries and modern frameworks such as Tensorflow, Keras, Pytorch, scikit-learn, etc.
  • Experience with Python, Matlab and C++
  • Hands-on experience of development to solve problems such as: regression, classification, clustering, dimensionality reduction, structured output and anomaly detection

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in applying AI/ML to biomedical data
  • Experience with computer vision and/or robotics
  • Experience with databases and their tools

Education:

  • M.S./Ph.D. degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering/Computer Science, (advanced degree preferred)

Compensation: The anticipated range for this position is $120,000 - $150,000. Actual placement within the range is dependent on multiple factors, including but not limited to skills, education, and experience. This position also qualifies for up to 10% annual bonus based on Company, department, and individual performance.
