SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Project Management Intern (PM Intern) will be responsible for analyzing, optimizing, and tracking operational throughput of Tooling and Equipment throughout our Michigan Sites, along with some elementary tracking of finances and understanding of P&L. The PM Intern will communicate internally and externally on a regular basis to address operational issues with programs and provide standard reports to Project Managers, or Leadership as required, in support of program objectives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Creating and implementing tracking sheets, and Risk Registers (RAILs) to relay critical project information to PM who is focal on the account / project
  • Analyzing data to support continual improvement, recognize risk & opportunity, and support developing program objectives
  • Support Program Managers with customer specific tasks and general reports required by PMs to ensure all changes in programs and outcomes are well documented
  • Assist with content and follow up needed for financial reports and weekly status reports
  • Effectively communicating with Program Management and Leadership regarding financial status, metrics, and deliverables / adherence to ECDs
  • Provide meeting facilitation & support, including scheduling and coordinating meetings and communications.  Capture meeting minutes and actions and ensuring tracking and follow-up.
  • Support Program Manager in preparation of Project reviews, both internal and external
  • Any additional duties as reasonably assigned by management

REQUIRED SKILLS, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE

Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful job performance will be considered.  Typical qualifications would be:

  • In process of obtaining Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field
  • Experience successfully managing and producing data and deliverables with strict deadlines
  • Advanced PC skills and proficient knowledge with Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Excel and Power Point
  • Moderate analytical ability and ability to prioritize / problem solve
  • This position must meet Export Control Compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22.C.F.R. is required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Aerospace/ defense industry experience – both regulations and technical
  • QlikView and SAP experience

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • Some travel may be required that requires overnight stays.

  • The employee is occasionally exposed to caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
  • May be required to travel to other site locations during the workday
  • May be required to work weekends to meet department and business demands
  • Work with safe manufacturing processes and understand that eyewear is mandatory in the manufacturing area.
  • Knows that safety shoes are recommended in the manufacturing area
