Job description

DHO JV is joint venture between contractors, Dragados, Hawaiian Dredging Construction, Co., and Orion Government Services. This collaboration aims to develop a new dry dock for the Governments Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard (PHNSY) and Intermediate Maintenance Facility (IMF) Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam, working on important marine infrastructure projects with NAVPAC Pacific.

JOB OVERVIEW:
We are looking for a highly motivated CAD Technician with 2+ years of experience mastering the technologies and software used in CAD processes and on construction sites. Our successful candidate will work alongside the CAD Manager to develop several effective CAD workflows. You will implement and improve tools in AutoCAD and Civil 3D to facilitate consistent and efficient drawing production and comply with industry best practices and project standards, both internal and external.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create and/or modify cad drawings from mark-ups, RFI information or based on instructions from team members for all elements of a construction or engineering project.
  • Working as part of a collaborative team developing CAD and pdf drawings in compliance with project specs.
  • Utilizing cad standards to ensure compliance with government requirements to create and modify cad drawings for redline and as-built purposes.
  • Organize and print drawing sets as requested in a timely manner.
  • Review drawings for quality control.
  • Prepare and utilize external Reference Models.
  • Setup and manage drawing set using appropriate company drawing templates and standards.
  • Assisting Engineers in drawing production.
  • Coordinate drawing production in line with project requirements and in conjunction with other disciplines
  • Incorporate design changes and modifications as directed by the project team.
  • Maintain organized project file structures and documentation.

REQUIRED SKILL AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Technician or Technology Diploma or Degree or equivalent preferably in the disciplines of Architecture, Engineering and Construction Technologies
  • Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3d.
  • Working knowledge of Autodesk ACC is a strong asset.
  • Experience with reading and coordinating Mechanical, Electrical, Structural and Architectural drawings.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel/Word).
  • Ability to learn quickly and driven to broaden knowledge base.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Detail oriented.
