The Preferred Candidate:

  • Must have a degree in Civil Engineering
  • Must have 8+ years of relevant progressive experience
  • Currently holds a P.E.
  • Can successfully manage a Civil Engineering project from start to finish
  • Is proficient with AutoCAD and Civil 3D Plus
  • Has experience in Business Development and Client Management

DUTIES

  • Plan, coordinate and direct larger and/or more complex engineering projects
  • Lead and direct technical projects with overall responsibility for technical accuracy and appropriateness
  • Manage/solve technically complex problems, at times using advanced techniques and practices
  • Proposal preparation and direct follow through
  • Contract administration
  • Responsible for scheduling, productivity, and budget of projects
  • Ensure consistent, professional written and verbal communication with clients, contractors and project team members
  • Work with and assist other disciplines on multi-discipline projects
  • Serve as technical specialist and staff advisor
  • Develop staff and project engineers
  • Recognize, initiate and advance business development opportunities
  • Develop and maintain client relationships
  • Strive to make each project profitable

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering

Experience

  • 8+ years of relevant progressive experience

Certification

  • Professional Engineer's License is preferred

Additional Requirements

  • Must possess a valid driver's license, ability to safely operate a motor vehicle
  • Must possess advanced reading, writing and math skills
  • Must be comfortable communicating with the public
  • Must possess intermediate to advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office programs, and the ability to learn company / client software
  • Must be available to work in all types of indoor and outdoor environments

Work is performed both in the office and in the field, which may include all weather conditions, construction sites and/or difficult terrain, and extensive standing and walking. In the field, the employee will regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; frequently lift and/or move up to 60 pounds; occasionally move 80 pounds or more (such as a loaded wheelbarrow of concrete or soil samples). Overall, work may routinely require the employee to sit, stand, walk, climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl. The employee is regularly required to talk and hear and frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Must have the ability to see and smell; including close, distance and peripheral vision, depth vision and ability to focus.
