Job Description

As an Image Processing Algorithm Engineer in Michigan, you will develop innovative image‑processing and computer‑vision algorithms for KLA’s next‑generation semiconductor photomask inspection products. You will prototype and validate algorithms in MATLAB or Python, then translate successful solutions into production‑quality C++ on Linux platforms. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams, improve defect detection performance, and contribute from concept through productization and support.

Job Duties
  • Design, develop, and optimize innovative image processing and computer vision algorithms.
  • Research and evaluate new approaches in image‑processing, signal processing, computer vision, and machine learning.
  • Prototype and validate algorithms in MATLAB or Python; translate into production‑quality C++ on Linux.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to transform technical concepts into robust, customer‑facing capabilities.
  • Analyze complex image data, identify performance bottlenecks, and improve defect detection accuracy, sensitivity, and throughput.
  • Leverage parallel and GPU‑accelerated computing to develop high‑performance algorithm solutions.
  • Investigate customer challenges and contribute throughout the full development lifecycle.
Qualifications
  • 1–4 years of experience in image‑processing development (spectral/spatial filtering, model‑based methods, inverse problems, etc.).
  • Experience prototyping algorithms in MATLAB or Python and implementing them in C++ under Linux.
  • Strong understanding of conventional image‑processing research.
  • Hands‑on experience solving computer‑vision challenges in an industry setting.
  • Familiarity with linear and nonlinear optimization techniques, CUDA/GPU programming frameworks (e.g., PyTorch/TensorFlow), or optical or e‑beam modeling is a plus.
  • International and domestic travel required up to 10%.
Hybrid Work

This position allows flexibility and requires you to be in the office three days a week.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years experience, or Master’s degree plus 3 years experience, or PhD plus 0 years experience.

Compensation and Benefits

Base Pay Range: $105,900.00 – $180,000.00 annually. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life, voluntary benefits, 401(K) with company matching, employee stock purchase program, tuition reimbursement, wellness and paid time off, and other employee benefits.
