Description of Position

This is a technical support role suitable for candidates with 1-2 years in an IT related role. Applicants may bring experience from personal projects or previous IT roles. A diploma or certificate in Computer Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related program is an asset but not required. We're looking for someone who is passionate about technology, eager to grow, collaborative by nature, and able to communicate with emotional intelligence.

There are a few parts to this role that are highly important:

  • Delivering fast, friendly, and easy support to our clients. You'll help resolve everyday issues efficiently and with a positive attitude.
  • Being a strong team player. Our environment is highly collaborative, and we support each other to ensure clients receive the best experience possible.
  • Communicating clearly and paying attention to detail. Many tasks, especially projects and deployments will require careful coordination and accuracy to ensure everything is completed properly.

Job Purpose

  • Assist clients with hardware, software, and basic networking issues remotely and on-site when needed.
  • Work through the support ticket process, including identifying, researching, troubleshooting, and resolving issues, while documenting work clearly.
  • Communicate with clients and internal staff to schedule service tickets effectively.
  • Review and prioritize support requests to ensure timely resolution.
  • Provide accurate documentation of all work as it is completed.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Contribute to identifying client needs and relaying information to B4 Networks sales staff.
  • Support larger projects or professional services initiatives alongside senior team members.
  • Assist in coordinating, delegating, and prioritizing calls when appropriate.

Required Skills

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including active listening and customer care.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to multitask and adapt quickly in a fast-paced setting.
  • Basic understanding of IT support tools and general technology concepts. Including:
    • Basic management of Windows Server environments (2012-2025)
    • Basic Administration of Microsoft 365
    • Windows 10 and 11 Management
    • Networking fundamentals such as LANs, Ethernet vs Wi-Fi, and the theory of what is required for a network to operate
  • Accurate typing and data-entry skills for documenting service requests.
  • Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and grow.

Preferred / Asset Skills (Not Required):

Experience with any of the following is considered an asset but not mandatory:

  • Networking skills with routing, switches, VLANs (Sophos and Unifi experience is a bonus)
  • Virtualization technologies
  • Cybersecurity awareness fundamentals
  • Familiarity or fluency in Powershell or other programming languages
  • Previously worked at another MSP
