Position Title: CMAC Systems Administrator Location: Cheyenne Mountain Space Force Station, Colorado Relocation Assistance: None available at this time Remote/Telework: NO - Not available for this position Clearance Type: Top Secret with SCI Eligibility Shift: Shift Work may be required Travel Required: Up to 10% of the time Our NORAD Operations Group Selected by the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center’s Strategic Warning and Surveillance Systems Division for Operations, Maintenance, and Sustainment (OM&S) of critical mission systems to support the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) Cheyenne Mountain Complex (NCMC) Integrated Tactical Warning/Attack Assessment (ITW/AA) and Space Support Contract II (NISSC II). Since 2020, through NISSC II, has provided:
  • Operations, maintenance, and Sustainment of current and legacy systems for the surveillance and cataloging of manmade objects in space.
  • Mitigation of orbital conflicts.
  • Threat warnings and control from airborne, land-based, and space-based systems for threat activities.
  • Operations and maintenance of classified communications.
  • Software development and integration.
NISSC II supports the classified communications and processing for Command and Control (C2) capability and legacy space C2 systems located at:
  • Cheyenne Mountain Space Force Station (CMSFS), Colorado
  • Peterson Space Force Base (PSFB), Colorado
  • Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska
  • Vandenberg Space Force Base, California
  • Numerous sensor and forward operator sites around the world
Description of Duties:

The CMAC Systems Administrator supports North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) Cheyenne Mountain Complex (NCMC) Integrated Tactical Warning/Attack Assessment (ITW/AA) and Space Support Contract II (NISSC II). The candidate will:

  • Install operating system software, patches, and upgrades.
  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve system hardware, software, and networking issues.
  • Configure, optimize, fine-tune, and monitor operating system software and hardware.
  • Perform system backups, recovery, and server builds.
  • Provide systems administrator support to systems hosting complex operational databases, software configuration control, and system interfaces for computer systems.
  • Manage file servers and network access to include analyzing, troubleshooting, and documenting system anomalies.
  • Perform and provides server, workstation, and system expertise including on-site and off-site travel.
  • Coordinate and schedules system upgrades and maintenance.
  • Provide guidance, direction, and training to others in the group. Serves as backup to other computer systems administrators.
  • Perform and provides server and workstation expertise including on-site and off-site travel.
  • Order replacement of new hardware and software including warranty claims.

This position is expected to pay $85,000-$100,000 annually; depending on experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.

This position will be filled and work onsite at Cheyenne Mountain Space Force Station, Colorado

Basic Requirements:
  • Must have an active Top Secret with SCI eligibility
  • 5 years or more of general work experience
  • 2 years or more of directly related experience
  • Current DoD IAT Level II or higher (Sec+)
  • Working knowledge and system administration experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments; Microsoft Windows operating systems (OS) administration and associated hardware; VMWare and system visualization; and Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) technologies.
  • Red-hat or Linux experience/knowledge.
  • Understanding virtual machine and Remote Desktop.
  • Windows System Administration experience or Background with SPADOC or space situational analysis/space orbital.
Desired Requirements:
  • AS degree in a computer field.
  • VCP/VCAP
  • Cyber and Space Operations experience.
  • Basic understanding of network topologies and protocols.
  • Remedy trouble ticket experience.
