As our Systems Test Engineer, you'll play a vital role in the ongoing development and release of high-quality ultrasound scanners used across a wide range of medical applications. Working within our V&V Engineering team, you'll ensure our scanners meet rigorous quality standards and regulatory safety requirements. Your work will directly enable medical practitioners around the globe to use our scanners safely and effectively to improve patient care.

Your Responsibilities Include:

Acoustic Testing (Primary Focus)

  • Plan and perform acoustic output testing of ultrasound scanners to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and international standards (IEC, FDA, NEMA/AIUM).
  • Characterize acoustic fields using hydrophone measurement systems and specialized test equipment.
  • Analyze and report ultrasound safety metrics (e.g., MI, TI, ISPTA, ISPPA, pressure measurements) and prepare documentation for regulatory submissions.
  • Improve testing processes by developing automation scripts using Python, MATLAB, or LabVIEW.

Software Testing (Manual & Automated)

  • Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scenarios for new and existing software features.
  • Perform manual functional, regression, integration, exploratory, safety, and acceptance testing across Android, iOS, and web applications.
  • Build and maintain automated test suites using Python (pytest), Appium, Playwright, and GitHub Actions.
  • Test backend APIs, investigate defects, collaborate with developers on resolutions, and perform retesting.
  • Prepare test reports, quality metrics, and provide recommendations to improve product quality and test coverage.

Collaboration & Quality

  • Maintain validation and verification documentation within an ISO 13485 quality management system, ensuring traceability of requirements, risks, and test results.
  • Track work using Jira/Xray, maintain documentation in Confluence, and manage source control through GitHub.
  • Collaborate with Software, Hardware, QA, and Regulatory teams to support product quality, compliance, and regulatory submissions.

Your Experience So Far:

  • Diploma or B.Sc. in Biomedical Engineering/Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline
  • 2+ years of experience carrying out laboratory tests, analyzing results, and writing reports
  • Familiarity with IEC 60601-2-37:2010 and other relevant international regulations for ultrasound acoustic safety testing
  • In-depth knowledge and experience with electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, and thermocouples
  • Proficiency in MATLAB, LabVIEW, or similar simulation tools
  • Competence in mathematical and statistical analysis
  • Experience with scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, C++)
  • Understanding of SDLC and STLC processes, software testing best practices, and testing methodologies
  • Familiarity with source versioning, problem reporting, and continuous integration systems (SVN, Git, JIRA, Jenkins)
  • Hands-on experience testing mobile (Android, iOS) and web apps, plus familiarity with cloud infrastructure such as AWS or Microsoft Azure, is an asset
  • A thorough, detail-oriented approach with strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • An action-oriented mindset with the ability to learn new technologies and quickly put them into practice
