Systems Engineer (Integration, Verification & Validation)
Location: Chantilly, VA
Clearance Required: No Clearance Required
U.S. Citizenship: Required as the work location is governed by U.S. Department of Defense rules and regulations
Pay: $120k-$160K DOE

Position Overview
We are seeking a Systems Engineer to support integration efforts for a mission-critical payload program in Tucson, AZ. This role differs from traditional requirements-focused systems engineering positions. Instead, we are looking for a candidate with strong experience in verification, integration & test, and validation (V&V) - with emphasis on the "right side" of the Systems Engineering V-model.
This position is ideally suited for a senior-level engineer; however, candidates with mid-level experience will be considered if they possess the right integration and V&V background.
Key Responsibilities
  • Support system integration activities across hardware, software, and payload subsystems
  • Develop and execute verification and validation (V&V) plans, procedures, and test events
  • Lead or support system-level integration and test efforts
  • Perform requirements verification through analysis, inspection, demonstration, and test
  • Troubleshoot integration issues and coordinate resolution across cross-functional teams
  • Support test readiness reviews, integration readiness reviews, and technical interchange meetings
  • Ensure system performance meets mission and program requirements
  • Document test results, discrepancies, and corrective actions
  • Collaborate with systems, software, hardware, and program teams to ensure successful system delivery
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field
  • Experience supporting system integration, verification, and validation activities
  • Strong understanding of the Systems Engineering V-Model, particularly the integration and test phases
  • Experience developing and executing test procedures and verification plans
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex system-level issues
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Senior-level systems engineering experience
  • Experience supporting payload programs or defense/aerospace systems
  • Background in hardware/software integration environments
  • Experience with formal test events and documentation processes
  • Familiarity with requirements management and traceability tools (DOORS, Jama, etc.)
Level Consideration
  • Senior Level Preferred, but candidates with the appropriate integration and V&V experience at a mid-level will be considered
