Company Description

IDEALFORCE has a Contract position available immediately for a Mainframe System Programmer to join our customer in Phoenix, AZ. Please find below additional details about this job. Kindly respond with your most up to date resume if you would like to pursue this opportunity. 

Job Description

Performs installation, configuration, maintenance and support of Mainframe Communications platform. Qualified candidates must be flexible and able to work 1st shift, and occasional off hours and weekends. In addition, 24x7 on-call availability as required.

Responsible for supporting and maintaining the IBM Mainframe z/OS Communication Server Software (TCP/IP, VTAM, USS, OEM Print Software, Enterprise Exchange (EE), Terminal Emulators and OSA Adapters) that run in a large and very complex multiple customer computer installation.  

This position is responsible for implementing a current project to restructure the Mainframe network infrastructure across all LPAR's. 


Qualifications

Through knowledge of Network infrastructure functionality and network monitoring.

Thorough knowledge of installation and customization of UNIX Systems Services (USS), TCP/IP Communications Server, VTAM, OSA Adapters and SMP/E.

Knowledge of mainframe infrastructure to include experience or familiarity with IBM Mainframe tools and jobs (i.e. TSO, JCL, SDSF, ISPF, z/OS WLM, SMP/E, IDCAMS, IEBCOPY).

Strong analytical, performance tuning and problem resolution skills. 

Able to work independently and as a team member. Strong customer service skills required.
