The Operational Technology (OT) Network Asset Manager is responsible for the management of OT assets which are used in support of manufacturing and facilities operations. The position is responsible for maintaining an accurate OT asset inventory via an Enterprise Asset Management System (EAMS) which is used to monitor security, lifecycle, and operational aspects of the OT assets. The position will also manage the remote access systems utilized by equipment vendors for remote equipment support. The position works closely with the IT Network and IT Security teams to ensure compliance with corporate cybersecurity standards, facilitate asset visibility, and support operational reliability and efficiency.

What You Do.

The Operational Technology (OT) Network Asset Manager is responsible for the management of OT assets which are used in support of manufacturing and facilities operations.  This includes maintaining visibility, performance, and security of OT hardware and software systems for devices such as Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs); Industrial PCs (IPCs); Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs); motor controllers, drives, and amplifiers; and network infrastructure. The position is responsible for maintaining an accurate OT asset inventory via an Enterprise Asset Management System (EAMS) which is used to monitor security, lifecycle, and operational aspects of the OT assets.  The position will also manage the remote access systems utilized by equipment vendors for remote equipment support.  The position works closely with the IT Network and IT Security teams to ensure compliance with corporate cybersecurity standards, facilitate asset visibility, and support operational reliability and efficiency.

  • Assigns and documents device IP addresses, subnetting, and Virtual LAN (VLAN) assignments per Corporate OT Networking Standards
  • Develops and deploys managed switch configurations to support VLAN segmentation, trunks, and port assignments
  • Manages asset tracking systems and processes to ensure real-time visibility and lifecycle management
  • Leads discovery efforts for OT assets, which includes a significant number of legacy devices, via network analysis and physical investigative techniques
  • Captures and maintains all discovered OT assets within the asset management system
  • Performs analysis of new equipment to assure all assets are captured within asset management system
  • Manages secure remote access systems--both network deployment and user management
  • Manages asset management system data integration with OEM and cybersecurity databases
  • Manages OT component risk assessments and mitigation plans. Maintains OT asset status dashboards
  • Collaborates with IT, cybersecurity, and operations teams to ensure OT assets are secure, patched, and compliant according to internal agreed-upon risk profiles and external standards.


Your Education and Experience.

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a relevant technical area required from an ABET accredited institution.
  • Additional educational courses may be required to sustain departmental/individual technological knowledge.
  • Demonstrated experience or working knowledge industrial networking within a manufacturing industry.
  • Experience with asset management tools or network monitoring tools preferred.
  • Experience with PLCs and Automation controls is preferred.
