TELUS Capital Management is a dedicated and collaborative team that supports TELUS Corporate reporting and the overall Capital Investment Hierarchy and Project System, by delivering value added capital reporting to internal stakeholders, and monitoring capital spend to enable executive decisions on capital investment targets.

As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will be a trusted financial advisor and business partner to several key TELUS stakeholders groups. You will be a fundamental contributor to our overall company-wide Capital Investment activities and lead the Corporate reporting. You will translate financial data into value added reporting and insightful analysis that ultimately helps drive decision making. Using your creative approach, you will help to simplify and improve our processes. What you'll do

  • Lead the consolidation of all TELUS capital reporting and reconciliation of reporting systems
  • Prepare variance analysis and commentary, including high level explanations for the Corporate FP&A reporting team
  • Complete regular and ad-hoc monthly accounting entries
  • Prepare Balance Sheet and other reconciliations along with supporting analysis
  • Prepare quarterly Audit Committee and MD&A commentary, and assist with the preparation of information to address internal and external auditor requests
  • Support the creation and maintenance of capital projects, investment management structures and budget transfers
  • Facilitate annual training sessions with our Capital Leadership Teams to help all business units better understand capitalization policies and accounting procedures
  • Prepare annual update of the Corporate Standard Labour Rates (SLR)
  • Manage the annual Capital Hierarchy update, and all activities related to Year End conversion of the Project System
  • Coach and mentor our offshore team and Finance intern
  • Identify, develop and implement process improvements through simplification and automation, to achieve greater efficiency and effectiveness
  • Assist with ad-hoc reporting, system, and project requests as required
Qualifications

What you bring

  • 5+ years of progressive finance experience supporting large business groups and senior leaders
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration; CPA designation required
  • IFRS accounting expertise with strong knowledge of practices, policies, and professional ethics
  • Strong analytical skills with proven ability to influence strategic decisions and drive change
  • Results-driven with ownership mindset and ability to solve complex problems
  • Cross-functional collaborator delivering customer-focused solutions
  • Excellent communicator (written and verbal) at all levels, including senior leadership
  • Skilled at managing multiple deliverables in fast-paced, ambiguous environments
  • Advanced Excel and G-Suite proficiency
  • Experience with AI tools and automation to streamline processes and enhance analytics

  • Working knowledge of SAP and Business Warehouse (SAP BW) Project and Investment Management systems
