We are looking for a Data Center Field Coordinator to support the commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting of mission-critical data center control systems. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working hands-on in the field, solving technical challenges, and collaborating with customers and contractors to keep operations running smoothly.
Position Summary:
The Data Center Field Coordinator is responsible for the commissioning and startup of Data Center control systems. This includes programming modifications, testing, troubleshooting, documentation, and support of technically oriented automated control systems. This position works closely with project teams, customers, contractors, and vendors throughout the commissioning and startup process.
This role requires a self-driven individual who can perform key job functions independently while maintaining strong communication and collaboration with the project team.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain productive relationships with data center customers, contractors, and vendors
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure systems and equipment are installed accurately
  • Participate in commissioning and startup planning meetings
  • Program, implement, test, and document control systems
  • Commission and startup control systems with limited supervision
  • Troubleshoot PLC, network hardware, and software systems
  • Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures
  • Capture operational readings and equipment performance data
  • Provide project status updates throughout commissioning activities
  • Support ongoing data center service and operational needs
  • Assist with setup and management of control networks
  • Document commissioning and troubleshooting findings
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive customer information
  • Participate in after-hours support as needed
  • Follow and promote Interstates' safety culture
Education & Experience:
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Studies, Engineering, Instrumentation & Controls, or a related field preferred
  • Experience with industrial control systems preferred
  • Experience working directly with customers regarding system requirements and troubleshooting
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with PLCs, networking, and automated control systems preferred
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced field environment
Travel Requirements:
  • This position is located in Hermiston, Oregon
  • Candidates should live within approximately 1.5 hours of the regional Data Center
  • Travel to regional Data Centers is required for commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting support
  • Travel may exceed 50% depending on business needs and can include extended or overnight shifts
  • Occasional travel outside the region and training in Sioux Center, IA or other Interstates locations may be required

Compensation:
The pay range for this position is $68,000 to $77,000+ benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by the experience and education required, and level of responsibility. The range posted for this role represents a range that Interstates, in good faith, believes it is willing to pay at the time of this posting. The pay is determined by job related skills, training, education, and experience.
