Job description

Who We Are

At Encore Fire Protection, we are proud to be the east coast's largest full-service fire protection company, serving over 90,000 customers from Maine to Louisiana. With a team of over 2,200 dedicated employees, we provide innovative, customized fire suppression, fire sprinkler, and fire alarm solutions that protect lives and properties every day.

Our goal is to deliver superior experience to those who trust us to safeguard what matters most. We are passionate about continuous growth, innovation, and maintaining a culture that thrives on success and commitment to safety. Our mission? To be the best fire protection company the industry has ever seen.

The Opportunity

As a Suppression Shop Technician at Encore, you will be a key part of keeping our field teams and customers ready and protected. You will service, repair, and maintain portable fire equipment and extinguishers while helping keep the shop and materials organized, stocked, and ready for the next job. This is a hands-on warehouse and shop-based role that is a great fit for someone who likes working with tools, enjoys staying organized, and wants a path into the fire protection trade.

Over time, this position can open doors to field technician roles or other opportunities within operations, with training and mentorship provided along the way.

Key Responsibilities

You like keeping things in good working order, whether it is a fire extinguisher, a pallet of parts, or the back corner of the warehouse that everyone else forgets about. You will split your time between hands-on equipment work and keeping the shop running smoothly so field teams can stay focused on the job. In this role, you will:

  • Service, repair, and maintain portable fire equipment and fire extinguishers.
  • Learn and follow fire suppression testing and inspection procedures from experienced team members.
  • Spot issues where equipment is not working properly or not meeting current requirements and notify the right person on the team.
  • Maintain and update basic inventory records using tools such as Microsoft Excel or other digital systems.
  • Pull, prepare, and organize orders for delivery to job sites so field technicians have what they need.
  • Receive, verify, stage, and stock incoming materials in the correct locations.
  • Keep the shop and warehouse clean, organized, secure, and safe at all times.
  • Assist with deliveries or loading and unloading vehicles as needed.
  • Support the suppression repair team with additional shop and warehouse tasks as assigned.
What You Bring to the Table
  • Self-motivated mindset with a strong desire to learn and grow in the trade
  • A team-first attitude and willingness to jump in and help wherever needed in the shop
  • Ability to quickly learn and follow technical and safety instructions
  • Comfort using basic hand tools and common shop or warehouse equipment
  • Basic computer skills, including the ability to update simple spreadsheets or inventory lists
  • Solid attention to detail when labeling, stocking, and servicing equipment
  • Comfort being on your feet for most of the day and handling materials as part of normal work

What Makes You Stand Out

  • You have a high school diploma or GED, with technical or industry related expearience preferred.
  • You have one to three years of experience in a warehouse, shop, mechanical, or service environment.
  • You have hands-on experience with portable fire extinguishers or other life safety equipment.
  • You are familiar with basic safety standards in a shop or warehouse setting.
  • You have experience using Excel or other tools to track parts, equipment, or inventory.

Salary commensurate with experience with opportunity for a results-driven bonus based on personal output and effectiveness in role. Expected hourly range between $20- $22 per hour.
