Overview

Abile Group has an exciting and challenging opportunity for a PostgreSQL Database Architect on a 10 year contract providing User Facing and Data Center Services supporting an Intelligence Community customer. All the personnel on the team will work together to support innovative design, engineering, procurement, implementation, operations, sustainment and disposal of user facing and data center information technology (IT) services on multiple networks and security domains, at multiple locations worldwide, to support the IC mission.

The right candidate will possess the below skills and qualifications and be ready to handle all responsibilities independently and professionally.

Responsibilities
  • Manages the functionality and efficiency of a group of servers running on one or more operating systems.
  • Maintains database integrity and security, configures role-based access control (RBAC), and sets up administrative accounts.
  • Sets up administrator and service accounts.
  • Maintains documentation for configurations, standards, and procedures
  • Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products.
  • Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.
  • Develops and implements testing strategies and document results.
  • Provides advice on performance tuning and training to end-users.
  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.
  • Evaluates open-source or vendor tools and participates in database migration/special modernization projects.
  • Collaborates with developers on schema design, query optimization, and stored procedures.
  • Plans and executes database upgrades, patching, and migrations.
  • Ensures compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications

Clearance Required: TS/SCI with ability to obtain a CI Poly.

Degree and Years of Experience: Bachelors Degree in a Computer Science or related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.

  • 5 + years of related database analysis and/or administration experience.

Desired Certifications:

  • CompTIA Security+ or equivalent recommended.

Required Skills:

  • PostgreSQL experience required. Oracle database administration a plus.
  • Experience in PostgreSQL administration/tuning; including knowledge and implementation of database high-availability solutions and performance tuning.
  • Experience in monitoring, creating, and managing PostgreSQL server agent alerts.
  • Experience with Database backup, restore, migration, and Database snapshot technologies/strategies.
  • Knowledge on how to build/maintain efficient database table structures for both transactional and warehouse data.
  • Migration experience with Oracle, MySQL, and PostgresSQL.
