Job description

We are hiring for a Pharmacy Intern in their 2nd or 3rd year to support our Managed Care division in Edmonton, AB.

Reporting to the Manager, Managed Care, you will be involved in developing, coordinating, and executing pharmacy programs for pharmacists, patients, and other relevant stakeholders. You will gain experience in marketing, pharmacy operations, and clinical practice. You will work 16-20 hours per week.

You must currently be enrolled in a Faculty of Pharmacy at an accredited University.

You will be responsible for:

  • Assisting in developing communication materials to promote health and wellness programs and initiatives, and assisting in developing advertising/promotional tools, where applicable.
  • Working directly with the public in selected clinical programs under the supervision of a pharmacist.
  • Assisting in supporting and implementing care plans, vaccination services, and chronic disease management programs, including medication management services.
  • Supporting the day-to-day pharmacy retail operations and clinical stores at select retail pharmacy locations within your region.
  • Coordinating and participating in community and in-store health promotional events.

You have:

  • You must currently be enrolled in a Faculty of Pharmacy at an accredited University and completed your 2nd or 3rd year of Pharmaceutical Sciences.
  • Strong communication, writing and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft desktop applications.
  • Kroll computer system experience.
  • A good knowledge base of pharmaceutical topics, including chronic diseases and vaccinations.
  • The ability to travel frequently throughout your assigned region.
